(Other companies sent us sales guys who great at explaining the financial benefits, but didn't really understand the technical issues.) In addition to being the company that left us with the best impression, they also offered the best deal with their first quote. Others came close but only after haggling.We were rushing to meet the deadline for 2019 tax credits, and their friendly crew showed up on bitterly cold days & put in long hours to complete the installation in three days. They left the job site so clean that it was hard to tell they'd ever been there.The system has been in operation for about 3 weeks now, and we are very pleased with the results. read less

I obtained multiple proposals from 4 different solar contractors in the central Ohio area, but Bob Sisco, the owner of OPS provided the best price right from the start. The other contractors eventually came down to a similar price but I hate playing the negotiation game. OPS is knowledgeable, and trustworthy. They do what they say they will do when the promise to do it...that's uncommon in the contractors I've delt with in the past. When it came time for installation, Bob's son, Eric, and the rest of the crew did a GREAT job getting the entire system installed in a single day. I was thoroughly impressed with the way they broke down the job and worked both separately and together to efficiently accomplish the installation. System has worked great. During the few power outages that I have had with URE, as planned I disconnect automatically and simultaneously, roll over to my sub panel, and basically have all the power I need for the "important" stuff: garage/chest freezer, back up frig, aerator on septic, well pump, and barn. Bob and Eric were very responsive, provided great follow up, detailed information, and have integrity. The only delays experienced were with the utility company. As advertised, I am in the black in the summer, even in spring and fall, and in the red in winter regarding energy usage and production. The low bills (mainly connection fees) are nice, but the real peace of mind is knowing that if there is a long term outage I'm good to go. Our experience was fabulous. Bob Sisco, who designed the system, was knowledgable, savvy, and accommodating of our needs and concerns. His son Eric, who supervised the installation of our system in November of 2015, was professional and led a very capable and considerate installation team that finished the job ahead of schedule. OPS charged us significantly less than the higher-overhead businesses that provided estimates. The system functions exactly as promised and has saved us about half of our electrical bill. Got me on the schedule sooner than... read moreOPS were extremely professional, very responsive, and always answered my questions to satisfaction. Got me on the schedule sooner than expected. Brought masks for virus safety and wore them during conversations. Finished the job quickly and without issue. Very friendly. They described themselves as pretty minimalist. Meaning essentially they don't partner with financing companies. They did give me contact info for a couple banks but I dealt with the loan paperwork on my own. The upside of this is you save a ton of money. I looked at several solar companies and OPS was by far the cheapest for the hardware you get. Save yourself unnecessary costs and get good hardware anyway from a very good team with OPS. Their workmanship is guaranteed basically for the life of the panels- I hope I don't have to put that to the test but so far so good. They also dealt with all permitting and whatever else needed to go through DP&L for net metering so I didn't have to think about those details. It also hailed a bit, to my terror, like a week after installation. But they appear undamaged and unfazed. OPS also offered to install a squirrel guard to prevent critters from messing with the electronics under the panels. When I suggested I'd prefer to save money, they sent me the site to order the guard myself directly and even gave advice on how to install it myself. So I'm very happy they were more concerned with my satisfaction than trying to pressure me into spending more on them. My panels are producing great, even more than expected on cloudy days. I'm looking forward to my next DP&L bill! I will definitely go straight back to them whenever I build up the savings to get storage or do other energy improvements. Highly recommended. read less

When it came time for Eric and the crew to perform the install, they arrived on time, worked efficiently and had the system installed within two working days. Bob was confident that his company could deliver, and I can state without reservation that they delivered. Bob was prompt and informative with his proposal, presenting me several different options, and answering all of my questions with experience and understanding of his market. The crew was able to install my system even earlier than it was scheduled, which allowed me quicker access to the benefits of a reduced power bill. Eric handled all of the coordination with the utility, inspectors and zoning board. Most importantly, Eric and the installation crew were courteous, efficient, and very respectful of our property and our schedule. I can recommend Ohio Power Solutions without reservation at all. Bob answered every single e-mail I sent, which was many, in complete detail and addressing questions I hadn't even thought of. I started off wanting a much larger and more costly system but based on my usage and needs at the time it was recommended to go with the size that we did. I feel many other companies would have taken advantage of my lack of knowledge and racked up the bill. Regarding installation the team was very professional. In 1/2 the time that they quoted me they had my system up and running. I had some special considerations, like wanting everything on the back of the house and he worked out a system that met all our specifications for a reasonable price. Bottom line: we would use them again if we ever had another project and have passed their name on to others who are interested in solar. The quote was fair. The installation was done professionally and in a timely manner. We live on a small city lot and some of their equipment was blocking a driveway (often mistakenly thought to be mine). I pointed out that it was my neighbor’s driveway and they took care of it promptly and courteously. There were no problems with the inspection two weeks after the installation. There have been zero problems after four months. We’re retired and monitoring the app and seeing our solar production for the day is a new fun activity. To sunny days! read less

Eric has been outstanding answering questions about the Solar Edge app. The picture shows where I left room for additional panels when I need to convert a propane furnace to electric. We had the original proposal and consult before the pandemic and worried that we might not be able to have our installation in 2020 because of the ongoing situation but they worked with us every step to make sure we knew what was going on, when equipment was expected, and then during the install they took precautions to make sure both their employes and my family were kept safe. We ended up with 42 solar panels (18 south, 12 east, 12 west), 2 inverters, a backup interface (very first one they installed as it is a brand new to market piece of equipment), a battery backup, and exterior outlet for EV charging. We are loving the system so far and have even had great follow up service from Ohio Power Solutions when we had a question about how a part of our system was working. Plus we had a roof inspection with our roofing company to make sure the solar installation would not change the lifetime coverage on our roof and they inspector stated that it was the nicest and cleanest install he had ever seen (and asked for their contact information as he wants to go solar at his home). read less
